Meet the Pastor of Race Street Baptist Church |
Our Pastor is Gary L. Freeman. He was born, April 28, 1953, and raised near Brodheadsville, PA. He grew up in a Christian Home with both parents who were saved. His father, Paul L. Freeman, pastored several churches while our Pastor grew up. At the age of eleven, Pastor accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour with his father at his bedside late one night. He graduated from Emmaus High School in 1971 and then attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, Owatonna, MN and graduated in 1975. For 3 summers he was in the "Preacher Boy Program" at the Calvary Baptist Church, Lansdale, PA under the direction of Dr. E.R. Jordan. In 1976, the Pastor and his father felt led to start an independent Baptist church in the Allentown/Bethlehem, PA area. This church was named Bethlehem Bible Church, then Fundamental Bible Church and finally the Race Street Baptist Church located in Catasauqua, a suburb of Allentown.
Our Pastor met Donna M. Stoudt, his wife to be, while he was starting the new church. Pastor and his wife had known each other from young children and God was moving to bring them together for life. On June 10, 1978 they were married. They have two children, Jason and Rachel. Both are married and serving the Lord. Pastor and his wife have been blessed with two grandsons; Caleb Freeman and Stephen Reno.
Our Pastor now has over 30 years in the pastoral ministry and preaches expositorially from the Bible. If you are searching for a mature ministry where you will be learning the Word of God and where a conservative independent Baptistic local church stand is taken on the many areas of practical and theological ministry then we invite you to come and see our ministry. We certainly would love to have you stop by to check us out. May God direct your path as you seek His will for your life.
